Oklahoma vs. TCU Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-24-2023

The TCU Horned Frogs play host to the Oklahoma Sooners on Tuesday night in a crucial Big 12 showdown from Ed and Rae Schollmaier Arena. The Sooners come in trending right around the bubble, while back-to-back losses don't help matters. For TCU, a massive road win the last time out has momentum trending back in the right direction, as they hope to keep that going home. The Horned Frogs swept the season series last year, though with those being their only two wins in the last ten meetings between the two, the Sooners have their eyes on getting back on top.

Oklahoma's recent struggles have them questioning if a trip to March Madness will be in their future. Back-to-back losses to Baylor and Oklahoma State now have them hitting the road in desperate need of a win, against one of the conference's most dangerous teams. The Sooners have only won two of their last seven games and with a 103 road record, confidence is low heading into Tuesday night. It isn't going to help from a confidence standpoint that Alabama is up next, only placing even more pressure on the outcome of this one. Against the Bears last time out, the Sooners fought until the very end and four of their five last games have come by single digits as well. At some point, the numbers would show them turning things around at some point, though it remains to be seen if that night will be Monday.

Oklahoma continues to be without one player but overall, has a solid complement of players that they contin ue to have available. Yaya Keita (shin) was ruled out for the season back in mid-December but considering he only appeared in two games, Oklahoma's recent struggles definitely are connected to his absence.

Despite the lack of points scored on a nightly basis, the Sooners bring in one of the more efficient offenses in the country. They rank 277th nationally in scoring, though with the 20th-ranked field-goal percentage offense, they have the capability to give the Horned Frogs trouble. The key will be from three-point range, where the Sooners have found success this season but haven't faced a team with the length of TCU yet. Grant Sherfield (17.0 ppg) leads the way but with Tanner Groves (10.5 ppg) being the only other double-figure scorer, the Sooners will be desperate for a third scorer to emrge on Tuesday night.
