It wasn't easy but the Oklahoma State Cowboys clinched a spot in the Big 12 Championship game on Saturday with a thrilling 40-34 win over BYU in double overtime. The game was not official until the Cowboys' Trey Rucker stripped and then recovered a fumble as BYU was trying to tie the game in the second overtime. Oklahoma State is now 9-3 on the season as they get ready to take on the Longhorns for the first time this season.

Ollie Gordon III had a big night against the Cougars and paces the Cowboys with over 1600 rushing yards this season and 20 touchdowns. Gordon carries the load on the ground, with the next closest player having just 50 carries on the season. Gordon also has 33 catches on the season for a touchdown. Wide receiver Brennan Presley leads the team with 76 catches for 746 yards and five touchdowns on the season. The big play threat is wide receiver Rashod Owens who has 49 catches for an average over 13 yards per catch. The Cowboys offense is run by quarterback Alan Bowman. Bowman finished with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions and a completion percentage of 59.9%.

“At this point, I would guess their coaches are going to know that we’re going to do what we do. I’m going to say that for the most part they’re going to do what they do. We’re in (game) 13 and there aren’t a lot of changes that are going to take place over a two-day preparation.” Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy said about preparing for Texas in the Big 12 Championship.

Oklahoma State arrives at this title game with the 26th-ranked offense in the country. They are 50th on the ground and 40th through the air. The Cowboys offense runs through Gordon and his ability to make plays in space and team-leading 21 touchdowns. They are 76th on third down conversions this season. On the defensive end, the Cowboys are 112th in the country in total defense. They are 104th in run defense this season and 103rd in passing defense. They are 78th in 3rd-down prevention this season as well. OSU is 38th in turnover differential so they aren't likely to hurt themselves in that department. OSU is also disciplined, ranking 34th in penalties per game.

The Cowboys have three common opponents with Texas this season: Oklahoma, Houston and BYU. The Cowboys are 3-0 against that trio this season.

Key Injuries: RB E. Collins (undisclosed) is questionable. WR T. Shettron (undisclosed) is out.
