Oklahoma City Thunder at Houston Rockets – 2/1/23 NBA Picks and Prediction

The Houston Rockets play host to the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Toyota Center on Wednesday night.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have been in decent shape as they’ve won eight of their last 12 games overall and they will be hoping to bounce back here after getting stopped by the Warriors in a 128-120 loss on Monday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 31 points and seven assists, Josh Giddey tallied 21 points with eight rebounds and six assists while Jalen Williams chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Thunder shot 49 percent from the field and 11 of 24 from the 3-point line but they allowed the Warriors off to a flyer and were always trailing after allowing the Warriors to explode for 38 points in the first quarter. The Thunder trailed in this one by as many as 21 points before they poured in 72 points in the second half to make it interesting late.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have lost 15 of their last 17 games overall, but they will be eager to build some momentum in this one after taking down the lowly Pistons in a 117-114 road win on Saturday. Eric Gordon led the team with 24 points and seven assists, Tari Eason added 16 points with 10 rebounds while Kenyon Martin Jr. chipped in with 15 points and 13 rebounds on seven of 11 shooting. As a team, the Rockets shot 47 percent from the field and eight of 27 from the 3-point line as they poured in 32 points in the second quarter to overcome an early 14-point lead, before they closed the final 34.1 seconds on an 8-2 run to steal the game in a wild finish.
