Oklahoma at Iowa State – 2/25/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Oklahoma Sooners will head up to Ames to meet the Iowa State Cyclones in Big 12 play from the Hilton Coliseum on ESPNU. Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 87-72, but Iowa State has won the last two meetings.

Oklahoma dropped to 13-15 after losing to Texas Tech in Norman. The Sooners let the game slip away from them in the second half, and the Red Raiders would hand them an eleven-point loss, 74-63. Oklahoma is scoring 68.3 points per game, while allowing 68.2 ppg, and shooting 46.5% from the field.

Oklahoma’s last two losses have pretty much put a nail in their season, and you have to wonder if the motivation to play spoiler will even be there for them this weekend. The Sooners are 3-12 in Big 12 play, with a 1-7 road record. Former Nevada guard Grant Sheffield is the team’s leading scorer (16.5) after a 22-point outing in the win over KSU last week. Senior big Tanner Groves has scored 16 points in two of the last three games, and he leads the Sooners in rebounding (6.8) while scoring 10.0 ppg. Veteran forward Jalen Hill scored 16 points in the first meeting with ISU, and he’s second on the team at 10.4 ppg and 5.6 rpg.
