Oklahoma at Baylor Prediction – Basketball Picks 2/8/23

The Oklahoma Sooners will head down to Waco and face the Baylor Bears in Big 12 play from the Ferrell Center on ESPNU. Oklahoma leads the all-time series, 44-22, but Baylor has won nine of the last ten meetings.

Oklahoma dropped to 12-11 after losing to West Virginia in Morgantown. The Sooners were overpowered immediately by the Mountaineers, and they’d suffer a massive 32-point defeat. Oklahoma is scoring 67.8 points per game, while allowing 66.3 ppg, and shooting 47.2% from the field.

Oklahoma has failed to build any momentum after beating Alabama, and they now sit just one game out of the conference cellar. The Sooners are 2-8 in Big 12 play, with a 1-5 record on the road. Nevada transfer Grant Sheffield scored 30 points in the win over Bama, and he leads OU in scoring at 16.9 ppg. Senior big Tanner Groves will look to respond after fouling out in just 11 minutes versus WVU, but leads the Sooners in rebounding (7.5) while scoring 9.7 ppg. Veteran forward Jalen Hill also played big against the Tide, scoring career-high 26 points to bring his season averages to 10.1 ppg and 5.8 rpg.
