Oilers vs Sabres Prediction – NHL Picks 3/6/23

The Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres face off on Monday in an NHL showdown at the KeyBank Center. When these two teams faced off in October it was Buffalo that secured the 4-2 victory.

The Oilers are averaging 3.88 goals while their defense is giving up 3.31 goals per game. The offense is ranked 1st in the league while the defense is ranked 21st. Connor McDavid has scored 52 goals and added 70 assists so far this season. 

On the other side of this matchup is the Sabres who sit with a 32-25-4 record overall and they have gone 13-16-2 at home. On Saturday the Sabres scored five goals and that led to the two goal victory. Jeff Skinner finished with one goal and one assist. The Sabres are averaging 3.74 goals while their defense is giving up 3.56 goals per game. The offense is ranked 3rd while the defense is ranked 25th. Tage Thompson has scored 42 goals and added 40 assists so far this season. In this game it’s going to need to be the defense that steps up.
