It’s a battle of a pair of programs from the Midwest in a Mid-American Conference matchup on the hardwood. The Ohio Bobcats are on the road as they travel to face the Eastern Michigan Eagles Tuesday night. Ohio battled but fell short on the road as they fell 83-77 against Akron in their previous game Saturday afternoon, failing to cover the line as a 5.5-point underdog. Eastern Michigan held off Miami (OH) 74-69 on the road Saturday afternoon though they failed to cover as a 5.5-point favorite. In the all-time series between the teams, the Bobcats own a 53-26 edge and have won the last five meetings, including a 74-56 win on the road in the most recent matchup on February 12, 2022.

Ohio ended up falling short on the road on the road against Akron in their previous contest Saturday afternoon and look to bounce back here. The Bobcats fell to 11-10 overall and stand tied for eighth in the conference with a 3-5 record entering this game. Against Akron, Ohio was within two just over eight minutes into the game before giving up a 27-12 run that left them down 47-30 at the half. The Bobcats trailed by as many as 19 in the second half and, despite their attempts to rally, couldn’t get closer than four the rest of the way. Ohio shot 56% from the field, including nine of 16 from three-point range, and won the rebounding battle 33-23. Jaylin Hunter led the Bobcats with 16 points, four rebounds and five assists.

The Bobcats come into this game 51st in the nation in scoring offense with an average of 77.9 points per game. Ohio is excellent in the rebounding department as they collect 38.1 boards per contest (48th) and are handing out 13.5 assists a night. The Bobcats are below average defensively as they are 278th in the nation by holding opposing teams to 73 points a game. Dwight Wilson leads the team with 15.5 points plus 9.7 rebounds per game this season. Miles Brown (10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds), AJ Brown (10.6 points, 2.5 rebounds) and Jaylin Hunter (10.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists) each are solid secondary scoring options. AJ Clayton, DeVon Baker, Ben Roderick, Elmore James, Gabe Wiznitzer and Ajay Sheldon are other rotation pieces that Jeff Boals looks to in order to contribute solid minutes. The Bobcats are shooting 46.1% from the field so far this season. Ohio drills 8.7 three-pointers a night while sinking 36.6% from beyond the arc.
