Ohio U vs. Buffalo Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 1-3-2023

Ohio will try to extend its three-game winning streak when it travels to Buffalo on Tuesday night. The Bobcats are coming off a 76-59 win against Chicago State last Friday as they get set for their MAC opener. Buffalo is coming off a blowout loss at Michigan State to wrap up the non-conference portion of its schedule.

Ohio comes into conference play with some momentum after winning each of its last three games. The Bobcats picked up wins against Stetson and Delaware before Christmas, and they added a 76-59 win against Chicago State last Friday. They were able to cover the spread in all three of those victories, knocking off Delaware as a 2.5-point underdog. Those were much-needed wins for Ohio, as it had its worst showing of the season in an 82-48 loss to Florida in mid-December. The Bobcats are going to be on the road for their first two MAC games, as they will follow this contest with a trip to Bowling Green on Saturday evening.

They have been an excellent offensive team this season, entering this game ranked inside the top 70 nationally in turnover rate and offensive rebounding percentage. Their outside shooting numbers have been solid as well, as they are knocking down 36.0% of their 3-point tries. They are facing a Buffalo defense that has been miserable, ranked No. 246 of 363 Division I teams in opponent’s field goal percentage. The Bulls will have a large height advantage on Tuesday night, but Ohio has more experience. Senior forward Dwight Wilson III leads Ohio with 13.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, while freshman guard AJ Brown is adding 11.8 points—Brown has scored in double figures in seven consecutive games.
