The Ohio State Buckeyes have now dropped three straight games in the Big Ten following an 87-75 loss to Illinois at home on Tuesday night. Ohio State fell behind by seven points and never recovered while allowing the Fighting Illini to shoot over 50% overall and over 40% from 3-point range. The Buckeyes shot under 30% from 3-point land in the loss. Jamison Battle and Roddey Gayle Jr. led the way with 21 and 20 points respectively but it was not enough against the 14th-ranked Fighting Illini.

At 13-8 on the season, Ohio State's tournament chances are dwindling with each loss. They will need to find a way to pick up their first road win on Friday night against the Hawkeyes. The Buckeyes come into this game ranked 10th in the conference in scoring offense. They are also 11th in field goal shooting and 10th in 3-point shooting. The Buckeyes are 8th in 3-point field goals made per game. Defensively, the Buckeyes are sixth in the conference in scoring defense. They are eighth in field goal defense and 11th in 3-point defense in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes have held their own on the glass, ranked fourth in the Big Ten. They have been below average in turnover margin, ranking eighth.
