Ohio State at Northwestern – 1/1/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Ohio State Buckeyes and Northwestern WIldcats face off on Sunday in a college basketball showdown at the Welsh-Ryan Arena. When these two teams faced off last January it was Ohio State that secured the 95-87 victory. 

Ohio State comes into this game with a 9-3 record overall and they have gone 6-6 against the spread. In the last game against Alabama A&M, Ohio State scored 90 points, and that led to the 31 point victory. Two games ago against Maine, Ohio State scored 95 points, and that led to the 34 point victory. The Buckeyes are averaging 81.7 points while their defense is giving up 65.1 points per game. The offense is ranked 24 in college basketball. Brice Sensabaugh is averaging 15.8 points while shooting 52.7 percent from the field and 47.2 percent from behind the three point line. 

On the other side of this matchup is Northwestern who sits with a 10-2 record and they have gone 7-5 against the spread. In the last game against Brown they were tested, but they were able to secure the five point victory. Chase Audige had a big game finishing with 24 points and two rebounds. Northwestern is averaging 68.2 points while their defense is giving up 55.7 points per game. Chase Audige is having a big season averaging 15.3 points while shooting 40.8 percent from the field and 37.5 percent from behind the three point line. This is a good test to see how good this Northwestern team actually is.
