The hapless Oakland A's travel to Seattle for their final weekend series of 2022. Oakland has the worst record in the American League and is staring at a rebuild through their farm system. The Seattle Mariners, meanwhile, made a slew of moves both before and during the season and are now on the cusp of their first playoff appearance since 2001. On the mound in Friday night's opener will be lefty Ken Waldichuk (1-2, 7.15) of the A's taking on righty Logan Gilbert (13-6, 2.79) of the Mariners. First pitch is scheduled for 9:40pm EST.

The Oakland A's overhauled their team before and during the season this year and the results were obvious in the standings. The A's will finish with a 100-loss season and the worst record in the American League. The A's had one of the league's worst offenses which didn't do the team's revamped starting rotation any favors. On Thursday night in their series finale with the Angels, the Mariners were nearly no-hit in an eventual 4-2 loss. The loss was the 100th on the season for the A's.

The A's come into this final weekend series losers of seven of their last ten games and 14 of their last 20. They are actually a slightly better team on the road than at home this season which could speak to the team's incredibly poor home attendance. On the mound on Friday night will be lefty Ken Waldichuk. He is 1-2 in five starts with an ERA of 7.15.
