Hogan Harris (2-5) took the loss as he allowed two runs on two hits with one walk and three strikeouts over 3.1 innings of relief.

Paul Blackburn takes the hill for his 11th appearance and 10th start of the season for the A’s in this contest. He comes in 1-2 with a 5.06 ERA, a 1.583 WHIP, 18 walks and 49 strikeouts over 48 innings of work this season. Blackburn didn’t factor in the decision in his last start, which came against the Astros at home last Saturday. He threw 5.1 innings, allowing one run on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts in a 4-1 A’s victory. In his last three outings (two starts), Blackburn is 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA, a 1.92 WHIP, six walks and nine strikeouts over 12 innings of work.
