Oakland Athletics at Seattle Mariners – 10/1/22 MLB Picks and Prediction

The Seattle Mariners and Oakland Athletics face off on Saturday in an MLB showdown at T-Mobile Park. On Friday it was Cal Raleigh who hit a walk-off home run in the 9th inning to clinch a playoff spot.

Oakland comes into this game with a 56-101 record overall and they have lost five games in a row. The A’s offense has been a big issue all season and they are averaging only 3.5 runs per game which is 29th in the league. The pitching hasn’t been a whole lot better and they ranked 24th in the league. Seth Brown has hit 25 home runs and driven in 67 RBIs.

The Mariners come into this game with an 86-70 record overall and they have clinched their first playoff berth in 21 years. The Mariners offense has been inconsistent at times, but the pitching has been the real strength. The Mariners are giving up only 3.82 runs per game which is seventh best in the MLB. Eugenio Suarez has hit 31 home runs and driven in 85 RBIs. There has to be some concern if there were be a playoff-clinching hangover.
