Oakland at Wright State – 1/8/23 College Basketball Picks and Prediction

The Oakland Golden Grizzlies will head down to Dayton and face the Wright State Raiders in Horizon League play on ESPNU. This will mark the 25th time these two programs face off and Wright State leads the all-time series 17-7 after winning 11 of the last 12 meetings.

Oakland moved to 5-11 after beating Northern Kentucky on the road. The Golden Grizzlies managed to claw their way back into the game after trailing at the break, and snuck away from NKU with a one-point victory. Oakland is scoring 72.6 points per game, while allowing 76.8 ppg and shooting 42.9% from the field.

Oakland was able to nab their third straight win Friday, and after defeating three conference opponents you have to wonder which 5-11 team will come out Sunday. Jalen Moore’s return to the lineup has been key to positive start Horizon league play. The senior guard reminds fan of former stud Kay Felder, and he went for a season-high 25 points in the win over Green Bay to bring his average to 14.3 ppg. Trai Townsend (16.4 ppg, 7.1 rpg)  leads the Grizzlies in scoring after combining for 59 points versus Syracuse & Boise State. Missouri State Keaton Harvey joins him up front, and he leads the team in rebounding (7.5), while scoring 13.3 ppg.
