The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are on the road as they make the trip to face the Wake Forest Demon Deacons Saturday night. Notre Dame was beaten 63-59 at home by North Carolina in their previous game Wednesday night, though they did cover the line as a six-point underdog. Wake Forest was rolled 90-74 on the road by NC State in their previous game Wednesday night, failing to cover the line as a five-point underdog. In the all-time series between the teams, the Fighting Irish hold an 8-7 advantage though the Demon Deacons have won two straight meetings. That includes an 81-64 road win in the first meeting this season on February 4.

Notre Dame dropped their sixth straight game as they ended up falling short to North Carolina at home Wednesday night. The Fighting Irish dropped to 10-18 overall and stand tied for 14th in the conference with a 2-15 record. Against North Carolina, Notre Dame scored only three points in the first seven-plus minutes to trail by six. The Fighting Irish regrouped to lead by eight at halftime. The Fighting Irish struggled early in the second half, giving up a 15-4 run to start the second half to trail by three, and it was a seesaw battle the rest of the way. Their last lead came at 52-51 with 5:56 remaining and they promptly went scoreless for the next 3:38 of the game. Notre Dame never got closer than one down the stretch to end up with the loss. The Fighting Irish shot 39.7% from the field, including seven of 23 from three-point range, and was dominated 52-33 on the glass. Cormac Ryan led the way for Notre Dame with 14 points and s even rebounds in the loss.

The Fighting Irish stand 225th in the nation in scoring offense as they average 69.8 points per game. Notre Dame is pulling down an average of 31 rebounds per contest (345th) while the team is dishing out 12 assists a night. The Fighting Irish are below average on the defensive end of the floor as they allow 71.6 points per game this year, leaving them 235th in scoring defense.
