The Battle 4 Atlantis tips off on Wednesday with an early matchup between the Northern Iowa Panthers (1-2, 0-2 ATS) and the #14 North Carolina Tar Heels (3-0, 1-2 ATS). Northern Iowa just lost on the road to South Florida, going down 74-65 as just 2.5-point underdogs. UNC just hosted UC Riverside and sent them home with a 25-point loss, winning 77-52 and just covering the 23.5-point spread. Tipoff is set for 12:00 EST from the Imperial Arena in Nassau, Bahamas and can be found on ESPN.

The Northern Iowa Panthers head to the Bahamas without any wins against Division I opponents. The only win the Panthers have came from blowing out Loras College, a lower division team. In their other games the lost in North Texas and in South Florida. Northern Iowa went cold from three against USF, only connecting on five of their 28 three pointers in the loss. Center Jacob Hutson led the team in scoring with 14, but it was not enough to beat the Bulls.

Northern Iowa is led in scoring by 6'5 junior guard Nate Heise with 14.3 PPG. He also adds 6.3 RPG and 3.3 APG. Heise dropped 20 in the loss to North Texas, he was a starter last season but only made it two games before missing the rest of the year with an injury. Tytan Anderson is a 6'6 forward, he was a starter all last season and averages 11.3 PPG and 4.7 RPG this season. Jacob Hutson is their big man inside, he is 6'11 and 250-pounds, and can be seen thrown down a dunk off a drop step in the video above. Hutson averages 11.0 PPG and 5.3 RPG. No player on the team has more than five made threes over the three games.

The Panthers currently rank 120th overall in KenPom. Their offense ranks 83rd in the nation in efficiency, but only 172nd in defensive efficiency. Northern Iowa plays slow offensively, they only rank 218th in the nation in tempo.
