The Vanderbilt Commodores (2-1) visit the Northern Illinois Huskies (1-1) at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium on Saturday, September 17, 2022.
In their last outing, the Huskies lost 38-35 to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. The Commodores are coming off of a loss to the Wake Forest Demon Deacons by the score of 45-25. Rocky Lombardi had 259 yards on 18-of-31 passing (58.1%) for the Huskies in that matchup against the Golden Hurricane, with three touchdowns and one interception. He also added two carries for 6 yards and one rushing touchdown. Antario Brown took 20 carries for 73 yards (3.7 yards per carry) and one touchdown. Cole Tucker had 123 yards on seven catches (17.6 per reception) with one touchdown in that game. AJ Swann’s performance for the Dores against the Demon Deacons included 8-of-11 passing for 146 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. In that matchup, Re’Mahn Davis had an 18-carry, 87-yard game (4.8 yards per attempt) with one touchdown. He also added five receptions for 21 yards . Jayden McGowan caught three passes on four targets for 56 yards (18.7 yards per reception).
