The Northern Illinois Huskies are right in the middle of the pack in the MAC at this point with a record of 7-7 in conference play. The Huskies have lost three of their last four games including two in a row. On Saturday, NIU fell at home to Miami (OH) 66-65 in overtime at home. NIU coughed up a 19-point lead with under ten minutes to go to take the heartbreaking loss. Anthony Crump led the Huskies with a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds to go along with five assists. Zarique Nutter added 16 points but it wouldn't be enough to fend off Miami.

“Disappointed in the outcome, we didn't finish anywhere what we were capable,” said NIU head coach Rashon Burno. “A 20-point lead with nine (minutes) to go, I thought we got out of character, we didn't play our style of play in terms of composure, playing for each other. (Miami) did a good job of getting out in transition, they went zone and we didn't ma ke shots to get them out of the zone and that gave life to them … and we didn't do a good job of executing.”

The 11-16 Huskies will try to regroup on the road against Ohio on Tuesday and avoid a season sweep to the Bobcats. NIU fell back six at home to Ohio earlier this season. The Huskies come in with the 10th ranked offense in the MAC. They are sixth in field goal percentage and sixth in 3pt field goal percentage. NIU has been sloppy with the basketball, ranked just 10th in the conference in fewest turnovers per game. The Huskies are seventh in scoring defense this season. They are seventh in opponent's field goal percentage and fourth in 3pt defense. On the glass, NIU is just tenth in the conference in total rebounds.
