The Northern Illinois Huskies (3-9, 4-5 ATS, 6-3 O/U) meet with the Indiana State Sycamores (9-3, 6-5 ATS, 7-4 O/U) in non-conference play on Wednesday evening. The Huskies earned a home win against Albany on Tuesday. The Sycamores were hit with a road loss by Duquesne in their previous bout. This marks the first meeting since 2016.

The Northern Illinois Huskies have lost five consecutive games. They were the dog in two of the defeats against Gonzaga and VCU, losing 88-67 against the Zags and an ugly 90-63 loss at VCU. Next, the Huskies were labeled four-point favorites in an 83-78 home loss to Albany on Tuesday. Northern Illinois has yet to record a win this month. Their previous victory was late last month against Eastern Illinois. The Huskies have covered the spread in one out of their last four clashes. 

Keshawn Williams continues to post big numbers. The junior guard accumulated 23 points in Tuesday’s defeat and has eclipsed 20 points in four out of his last seven games. Williams has recorded an average of 18.4 PPG on 47% shooting. David Coit collected 24 points in the loss to Albany. The sophomore guard has shot below 30% in two out of his last three games and is ave raging 13.8 PPG on 40% shooting. Zarique Nutter has scored double-digits in just one out of his last four clashes. The sophomore guard has filed an average of 10.5 PPG and 5 RPG.

The Huskies are pegged 321st in the country in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings and are 1-6 on the road including losses to Idaho and VCU. Northern Illinois is in a rebuilding season and will probably be at or near the bottom of the MAC. The Huskies are scoring an average of 69.4 points, ranking them 250th. The defense is their biggest weakness, squandering an average of 77.8 points, placing them 345th in DI.
