The Northern Colorado Bears and Baylor Bears face off on Monday in a college basketball showdown at the Ferrell Center.
Northern Colorado comes into this game with 1-1 record, but the one loss was an ulgy one. Against Houston in the first game of the season,. Northern Colorado only scored 36 points and that led to the blowout defeat. In the last game against Texas A&M Commerce, the offense was much better scoring 80 points, and that led to the three-point victory. Northern Colorado was outscored 49-34 in the second half, but still held on. Daylen Kountz was the top player for Northern Colorado scoring 23 points and grabbing three rebounds.
On the other side of this matchup is Baylor who sit with a 2-0 record and they have played well in each of the games. In the first game they beat Mississippi Valley State 117-53, and in the last game beat Norfolk State 87-70. Baylor was led by Keonte George who finished with 23 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. Jalen Bridges also had a nice game finishing with 20 points and five rebounds. On the season Baylor is averaging 102 points per game which is seven best in college basketball.
