We have a battle between Boston and New York as Northeastern (7-10 SU, 6-11 ATS, 3-3 CAA) travels to Long Island to take on Stony Brook (7-11 SU, 10-6 ATS, 3-2 CAA) on Thursday night at 7pmET.
These teams met on Dec. 31 with the Seawolves upsetting Northeastern 65-61 as a 9-point dog.
Jahmyl Telfort scored 14 points including the game-winning shot with five seconds left to lead Northeastern to a come-from-behind win over Delaware on Monday 59-58. Chris Doherty led the Huskies with 15 points and 13 rebounds, but committed seven of his team's 21 turnovers. Joe Pridgen contributed 14 points and 14 boards for a Northeastern team that needed this win over a Jameer Nelson Jr.-less Delaware squad.

For Northeastern (264 KenPom) to prosper, they are going to need to curtail their turnovers. They opened up CAA play on Dec. 29 with a 12-point win over NC A&T and then were shocked at home by Stony Brook. That was followed by a 69-66 defeat at William & Mary as a 2-point favorite. After beating Hampton the road by 16, they lost to Drexel 76-55 at home on Jan. 14. Turnovers have been a major issue all season so Monday's 21 turnovers were not a fluke. They rank 12th in the CAA in assist/turnover ratio and 13th and last in turnover margin at -4.76. Their major strength is on the boards as they rank third in rebounding ratio at +4.00.
Telfort (6-7, 225) is a long point forward who averages 16.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists on 48.8% shooting (39.1% 3pt). Doherty (6-7, 250) adds 9.5 points and 5.7 rebounds.
