The North Texas Mean Green (6-5) take on a familiar opponent when they host the Rice Owls (5-6) on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Apogee Stadium in a C-USA showdown.
The Mean Green were beaten by the UAB Blazers 41-21 in their last game. The Owls are coming off of a loss to the UTSA Roadrunners by the score of 41-7. In that matchup with the Blazers, Austin Aune had 159 yards on 15-of-32 passing (46.9%) for the Mean Green, with one touchdown and no interceptions. He also carried the ball seven times for 6 yards and one rushing touchdown. Ikaika Ragsdale totaled 74 rushing yards on 17 carries (4.4 yards per carry). He added one catch for seven yards. Damon Ward Jr. had 58 yards on six catches (9.7 per reception) with one touchdown in that game. AJ Padgett’s performance for the Owls against the Roadrunners included 7-of-18 passing for 110 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. In that matchup, Juma Otoviano had an eight-carry, 23-yard game (2.9 yards per attempt). Bradley Rozner caught four passes on seven targets for 73 yards (18.3 yards per reception), and scored one touchdown.
The Mean Green (-13.5) are big favorites against the Owls. The total is 60.5 points.
