North Carolina (UNC) vs. Wake Forest Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 11-12-2022

The No. 15 ranked North Carolina Tarheels will look to stay undefeated in the ACC when they travel about 90 miles to face the Wake Forst Demon Deacons. North Carolina won the last two meetings in high-scoring shootouts, 59-53 in 2020 and 58-55 last year.

It's hard to believe that the Tar Heels are undefeated in the ACC and have only one loss in the season, but that's the case, and they are 15th in the College Football Playoffs rankings.

Since suffering their only setback to Notre Dame 45-32, the Tarheels have won five straight games. Last weekend they beat Virginia 31-28 as a seven-point favorite but took a knee inside the Cavaliers' five-yard line to end the game.

North Carolina is top-10 in the country in points scored per game, total and passing yards per game. The rushing attack is also solid ranking 55th picking up 167 yards per game. The defense has been weak, with the Tarheels in the bottom 30 on points allowed, total yards, passing and rushing yards.

Second-year freshman Drake Maye is a Heisman candidate, ranking fifth in the nation with 2,964 yards, third with an 89.5 QBR, and first with 31 touchdowns against three interceptions. Maye also leads the team with 513 rushing yards.
