North Carolina has been very good at times this season. They have three tough losses over Villanova (83-81ot), UConn (87-76) and Kentucky (87-83). Since the loss to Kentucky, the Heels beat Oklahoma (81-69), Charleston Southern (105-60) and Pittsburgh on the road 70-57 as a 4-point favorite on Tuesday. In their win over the Panthers, UNC was led by center Armando Bacot, who scored 16 points to reach 2,000 for his career and grabbed 10 boards. R.J. Davis added 15 points and four assists to lead the Heels, who struggled from the field (37%) and three-point range (5-17). But they did the job on the defensive end, holding Pitt to just 5-of-29 (17%) from three-point range.

According to KenPom, the Tar Heels are 11th overall and 11th in Adjusted Offensive Efficiency. This is a very talented team that added two key contributors in the transfer portal to help Davis (21.1ppg, 3.6apg) and Bacot (14.9ppg, 10.8rpg).  One was Harrison Ingram from Stanford, who averages 13.4 points and 7.0 rebounds on 42.9% from long range. Notre Dame transfer Cormac Ryan (6-5, 195) adds 11.1 points and 3.7 rebounds on 37.8% shooting. Overall, the Heels average 85 points per game on 45.9% shooting (36.3% 3pt). They allow 72 points per game on 40.9% shooting (31.8% 3pt). They are very good at the free throw line (77.1%), which never hurts in close games.
