The Eagles will flock when North Carolina Central and Coppin State cross paths in MEAC play this Monday night from the PE Complex. NCCU leads the all-time series 13-5 after winning three of the last four meetings.
North Carolina Central dropped to 7-8 after losing to Morgan State in Baltimore. The Eagles led throughout the contest, but a late push from the Bears would lead to them picking up the overtime victory. NCCU scores 79.5npoints per game, while allowing 68.2 ppg, and shooting 49% from the field.
NCCU faced a stiff non-conference schedule and they managed to cover the margin against some really talented schools. Junior guard Justin Wright scored a season-high 24 points in the win over Citadel, and he leads the team in scoring (15.5). Kris Monroe led the team with 19 points against Morgan State, and he’s averaging 10.2 ppg and a team-lead 5.2 rpg.
