North Carolina at Georgia State 9/10/22 College Football Picks and Prediction

The North Carolina Tar Heels and Georgia State Panthers face off on Saturday in a Week 2 college football showdown at Turner Field.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are one of the few teams that have played two games so far this season and they have won two games, although there are still a ton of question marks surrounding this team. North Carolina put up 63 points in the last game against Appalachian State and that was enough to win, but the defense really struggled giving up 61 points. Quarterback Drake Maye completed 24 of his 36 passes for 352 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Caleb Hood had six rushes for 87 yards. Wide receiver Kobe Paysour had eight catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. The big concern about that game has to be with the way the defense played, and they need to step up more in this game.

On the other side of this matchup is the Georgia State Panthers and they opened up their season with a 35-14 loss at the hands of the South Carolina Gamecocks. The defense didn’t give up any points in the 1st quarter, but they were worn down and ended up losing by a big margin. Under center for Georgia State was Darren Grainger and he didn’t look great in the first game. He completed 7 of his 29 passes for 111 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. The Panthers did find a little success on the ground and were led by Jameyst Williams who finished with 76 yards. The defense did allow 227 yards through the air and they will need to clean that up.
