The Northern Illinois Huskies are 1-0 this season after defeating Eastern Illinois by a score of 34-27 in Week 1. Northern Illinois had a 31-13 lead in the fourth quarter before giving up two late touchdowns to make the score closer than it was. Rocky Lombardi threw for 192 yards and one touchdown for the Huskies. Harrison Waylee rushed for 83 yards and one score, while Shemar Thornton caught six passes for 81 yards in the win. The Northern Illinois defense allowed 441 yards and forced two turnovers in the game.
The Tulsa Golden Hurricane are 0-1 this season after they lost to Wyoming by a score of 40-37 in double overtime. Tulsa led by 10 points in the fourth quarter of this game, but allowed Wyoming to tie it up and couldn’t outlast the Cowboys in overtime. Davis Brin threw for 460 yards and three touchdowns for the Golden Hurricane. Steven Anderson rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown, while Keylon Stokes caught 11 passes for 169 yards and one score for Tulsa. The Tulsa defense allowed 399 yards and forced one turnover in the loss.
