The Nicholls State Colonels will head to Waco and face the Baylor Bears in non-conference action from the Ferrell Center on ESPN.
Nicholls State fell to 6-6 after losing to Mississippi State in Starkville. The Colonels nearly tacked on a signature win after taking the undefeated Bulldogs to the brink, but coming up just a bit short, 68-66. Nicholls State is scoring 79.7 points per game, while allowing 72.3 ppg, shooting 46.1% from the floor. Senior guards Latrell Jones (15.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg) and Caleb Huffman (15.4 ppg, 4.6 rpg) lead the team in scoring.
Baylor improved 9-2 after beating Northwestern State at home. The Bears got a much better game than they anticipated, scoring a season-low 58 points, but still managing to defeat the Demons by ten points. Baylor is scoring 80.4 points per game, while allowing 66.3 ppg, and shooting 48.2% from the field.
