Florida Panthers -1.5 (-115) over Columbus Blue Jackets
Let's get things started down in South Beach with the Panthers taking on the Blue Jackets. Florida isn't exactly on pace to win the Presidents' Trophy for the NHL's best record again, but it is still a more complete team than Columbus. Had the Jackets not pulled off a couple of wins recently, the odds for this play would be even more expensive. Regardless, not even having the puck line at plus odds is very telling.'
Despite winning their last 2 games, the Jackets are still sitting at the bottom of the Metro Division. They were also at home for both of those wins and will now be on the road. Columbus allows 4 goals per game on the road (2nd most in the league) and 4.07 goals per game overall, which is also the 2nd most. The last time the Jackets were away from home, they lost 4-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Although the Panthers were recently upset over the weekend, their home game prior was a convincing 5-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings. We only need them to win by 2 goals for this play, which they should do in a great bounce-back spot.'
