Florida Panthers vs Tampa Bay Lightning over 7 (+105)

The total has gone over in 12 of Florida's last 16 games and in 7 of their last 8 on the road. The over has also hit in 4 of Tampa's last 5 games. Over these teams’ respective last 10 games, the over is 12-7-1 in those combined 20 games which includes 6-2 in Lightning home games and Panthers road games. Those records contribute to these team's combined over under record of 64-46-10 including 36-21-5 between Lightning home games and Panthers road games. Both of these teams rank top 8 in the NHL in goals scored per game which has been a key driver behind so many high totals. Tuesday looks like it will bring more of the same.

Although both teams produce at a decent clip, they have been volatile on the defensive side of the puck as well. Weaker goal prevention has been Florida's achilles heel all season. That combination of good goal scoring but weak goal prevention has been a great recipe for overs. Volatility has been somewhat regular for the Lightning too this season. In Tampa’s case, the volatility has largely been a positive. They have either scored or allowed 5+ goals in 4 of their last 5 games. Over the course of the entire season, they have scored or allowed 4+ goals in 48 of their 59 games. That usually leaves just a little bit left to take games over the total. Recent trends, team strengths, and volatility look good for another over.
