NHL Shots on Goal Player Props – Today's SOG Prop Picks

We are back baby! The NHL is back in full swing and boy am I excited.

I love watching and betting on hockey and last season I found my favorite market to bet on, maybe in all sports and that is Shots on Goal.

The market really took off near the end of the season and really got big in the playoffs.

Now, with a fresh season ahead of us, let's have a profitable and fun time finding the advantageous spots of guys putting puck on net.

If you are new to this market, here are a couple of things to keep in mind.

  1. A shot on goal is described as when a player takes a shot that is either saved by the goaltender or is scored.
  2. A shot that is blocked by a defender or another player, hits the post or never reaches the goalie does not count as a SOG.
  3. Always be mindful and pay attention to stat corrections. After the game, sometimes shots are taken away or added depending on how they were deemed during the game. Triple check the stats post game to make sure.

Ok with that being said, lets dive in to the slate of games and find the value!

Steven Stamkos o3.5 SOGs (+100) and Connor McDavid o3.5 SOGs (-125)

I wrote about why I love Stammer and McDavid tonight in my Game Preview Article HERE.

Go check that out and then come back for the rest!

Brock Nelson o2.5 SOGs (-115)

Nelson has been one of the hottest offensive players in the league.

He has hit his shots in 6 of his last 7 games and has scored in 4 of the Islanders last 6 games.

This is a heated rivalry with the Islanders and the Rangers and Nelson will come out ripping.

They already played earlier this season and Nelson had 4 SOGs.

I love this spot for Brock to stay hot again.

Mika Zibanejad o3.5 SOGs (-115)

I am staying in this Isanders/ Rangers game for this one, with one of the hottest shooters in the league.

Zibanejad cooled a bit in the last 2 games, not hitting his shots but he has still been firing. This play is more about the matchup and the rivalry.

As I mentioned with Nelson, these 2 teams do not like each other. They are going to do everything they can to score tonight.

And that starts with Mika.

With the rivalry aspect as well, there will be penalties and Zbad does most of his SOG work on the power play.
