It's not quite the first puck-drop of the day, but in the second window of afternoon games, we have a matchup in Buffalo. In fact, it's going on immediately following the Steelers vs. Bills Wild Card matchup in the NFL. Regardless, we're focused on a high-scoring affair. That has generally been a theme for the Sabres the past couple of seasons, and this year specifically, even more so for the Canucks. They've bounced back from a down season last year and are leading the entire NHL in goals per game.'
That's right – more than the Maple Leafs, Avalanche, Oilers and the like. They aren't just scoring a lot in general either; they are surpassing expectations. Oddsmakers clearly can't figure them out, as Vancouver has the 2nd-best record in terms of going over the total this season.
