NHL Odds & Best Bets Today: Schedule, Picks for Tuesdayiv class=”bodyContent col-lg-9 mb-3″>

With 10 games on tap on a relatively busy night in the NHL, there are plenty of opportunities to add some extra sweet, sweet cash to your pockets. Read on for our NHL best bets for Tuesday based on the best NHL odds.

The NHL's regular season wraps up this week, but before we settle into the terrifying rollercoaster of postseason hockey, there's still a lot of value to be mined from the remaining games on the schedule. We'll focus on games between the Boston Bruins and Washington Capitals, and the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday. We'll also bet on David Pastrnak's penchant for slinging pucks, and Nathan MacKinnon's thirst for piling up points.

With all of that in mind, here are our NHL best bets for Tuesday (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Tuesday's NHL top picks

The defending Stanley Cup champions are absolutely filling the net as they march toward the postseason. Riding a five-game winning streak, Colorado is averaging 4.8 goals per game during that red-hot stretch. The Avalanche combined with their opponents for seven or more goals in each of those victories.

Not to be outdone, the streaking Oilers have rattled off seven straight wins, laying waste to opposing goaltenders to the tune of nearly 4.6 goals per game over that span. With both teams handing out red-light burns of late, I expect a 4-3, 5-3 type affair. Most sports betting sites have a 6.5-goal total, with the best odds for the Over coming via DraftKings.

Since neither team has much to pay for, I have to back the better team to pile on the goals. Sure, the Bruins could sit a few stars in anticipation of the playoffs, but they're also 13-1 over their past 14 games, so I don't think they'll have much difficulty with the middling Caps.

The Bruins are the superior team in goals per game, goals surrendered per game, Corsi for percentage, expected goals against, and expected goals for percentage. At this point the line for the spread is -110 both ways, so there's definite value in backing the Bruins to win by multiple goals.

Pastamania is running wild. Racking up goals in three of his past five games including a pair of hat tricks, Pastrnak has a ridiculous 60 goals on the season. Sitting four goals behind Connor McDavid for the league lead, Pastrnak will have to continue his torrid pace if he hopes to grab another Rocket Richard Trophy. Do I expect h im to catch McDavid? No, but I do expect him to open up a shooting gallery Tuesday night.

Pastrnak's been launching frozen rubber at an alarming rate. Averaging 6.6 shots per game over his past five outings, and 4.95 shots per game on the season.

Last week's first star of the week is absolutely terrorizing opposing goaltenders. Cracking the 100-point mark for the first time in his career, MacKinnon has four multi-point games in his past five outings, and 35 multi-point efforts on the season (in 68 games). In two games against the Oilers this season “Nate the Great” has five points, racking up two or more points in both games. Look for him to stuff the scoresheet again when the Avalanche meet the Oilers.
