NHL Friday parlay at mega (+992) odds, today 10/28

It may not be the giant 10-game slate of last night, but 6 games on the board is still a great Friday night. It also means plenty of opportunities for profit heading into the weekend. After making all of our individual side, total and player prop bets, let's piece together a parlay with some mega odds. It requires each leg to hit, but we've targeted 3 great spots given the matchups on tonight's slate. Before we dive in, be sure to check out our NHL picks for today's action.

Carolina Hurricanes ML (-190) over New York Islanders

Our first play may have some longer odds than expected, but we'll be making up for it. We're sticking with the straight money line due to how these teams typically win games. Both the Hurricanes and Islanders are primarily defensive teams. We saw that recently with New York, as they took down their cross-town rivals in a 3-0 game. Similarly, the Hurricanes have a stout goaltender in Frederik Andersen.'

He led the Canes to the number 1 goaltending rank last season, and they've allowed the 4th-fewest goals per game this year. Therefore, this should be a close game. However, Carolina is still the more complete team. The Islanders have a great goalie in Ilya Sorokin, but they lack the offensive firepower to be a truly great team. Not only that, this will be the Hurricanes first home game in over 2 weeks. They've been on the west coast and in Canada since then, so you know PNC Arena will bring the energy. They should win this one in regulation, but the straight money line is all we need to still have nearly +1000 odds.
