NFL Week 5 odds have been posted by oddsmakers. The first four weeks have given NFL fans numerous close games and last-minute heroics, but the Week 5 slate features several games with big spreads, potentially setting up the first week of the season with multiple walkovers.
The week kicks off on Thursday with one of the tighter spreads of the week between the Denver Broncos and Indianapolis Colts. An AFC West showdown between the Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders will close out the week on Monday Night Football.

The Colts fell to 1-3 after a 24-17 loss to the Titans. The Colts dominated in the box score, outgaining the Titans by more and a yard per play, but once again turnovers plagued Matt Ryan. The Colts handed the ball over three times, bringing the season total to nine. Another potential loss could be to Jonathan Taylor, who left the game with an ankle injury.
A costly fumble by Melvin Gordon that was returned for a TD set the tone for the Broncos in a loss to Las Vegas on Sunday. The Broncos otherwise looked solid, outgaining the Raiders by nearly a yard per play.

Somehow the Giants are 3-1 despite sitting near the bottom of the NFL in numerous statistical metrics. None of the victories were overly impressive and came against the lowly Panthers, Titans and Bears. Now the head to Green Bay with both Daniel Jones and Tyrod Taylor dealing with injuries. This line opened -7.5 on the look-ahead but could climb quickly if both QBs are ruled out.
The Packers were favored by 9.5 at home against a New England team that was without its starting quarterback. Then, in the first quarter, the Patriots lost their backup QB to injury, leaving third stringer Bailey Zappe taking snaps for most of the game. Still, the Packers struggled to take advantage.

The Kenny Pickett era is underway in Pittsburgh, and it has already been a wild ride. The Steelers looked poised to beat the Jets in Week 4 behind a courageous Pickett rushing score, but a late interception by the rookie QB paved the way for a Jets comeback win.
Pickett will likely get the start in Week 5 against the 3-1 Bills, who opened as huge home favorites. Buffalo looked shaky in Baltimore on Sunday but Jordan Poyer picked off Lamar Jackson in the end zone to set up a game-winning drive for the Bills.

The Chargers looked like what we all thought the Chargers would be in 2022, although it did come against the Texans. With Justin Herbert healing and Keenan Allen expected to return soon, this offense could be dangerous again in the near future.
The Browns lost as road favorites to the Falcons in Week 4, mostly because they couldn’t stop anything on the ground. Missing two key pieces on the defensive line doens’t help. Myles Garrett is expected to miss a couple more weeks following his car accident.

The Vikings escaped with the victory in the United Kingdom to get to 3-1 on the season, keeping them in sole possession of first place in the NFC North (tiebreaker over Green Bay). They should be able to hold that lead with a Week 5 showdown against Chicago as sizeable home favorites.
The Bears were held to 12 points against the Giants in Week 4 behind only 11 completions by Justin Fields. Chicago seems determined to pound the football on the ground even without lead RB David Montgomery; the Bears ran the ball 32 times in Week 4.

Another week, another Detroit Lions barnburner. The Lions scored 45 points against Seattle in Week 4 but surrendered 48, bringing their record to 1-3. In a year in which scoring is down across the league, Detroit has allowed an average of 35.25 per game. That’s by far the most in the league.
On the bright side, the Lions next face a New England team could be starting Bailey Zappe at quarterback next week if both Mac Jones and Brian Hoyer can’t go.

The Saints have a long trip home to think about their wild loss to the Vikings. Will Lutz drilled a 60-yard field goal to tie the game late, but he doinked a 65-yard attempt that would’ve sent the game to overtime. Still, the Saints should he happy with the performance considering they were without Jameis Winston, Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara. All three could return for the Week 5 game against Seattle.
Seattle piled up 48 points against Detroit but faces a much tougher task in Week 5. The Seahawks averaged 8.8 yards per play in Week 4; the Saints are allowing only 5 per play for the season.

There’s no timetable for a Tua Tagovailoa return after the Dolphins QB was carted off the field with a concussion on Thursday Night Football. That leaves Teddy Bridgewater as the backup plan as Miami travels on the road in Week 5. Keep an eye on Tua’s status all week; oddsmakers will move this line quickly if Tua is cleared to play.
The Comeback Jets did it again, winning their second game of the season on the final drive against Pittsburgh. Zach Wilson struggled at times in his first start of the year, completing only 18 of 36 passes, but he threw for a score and even caught one in the victory. He will be under center again in Week 5 against his division rival.

Atlanta moved to 2-2 despite completing only seven forward passes against the Browns on Sunday. They ran all over the Browns to the tune of 202 yards on 35 carries, and the defense forced a pair of turnovers. That was enough to get the win.
The Bucs face the Chiefs in Week 5. With a win in that game, and several offensive players on the Tampa getting healthier, this spread could pump to double-digits.

After opening the season with a pair of ugly losses, the Titans are back to .500 and right in the thick of the AFC South race. Getting back to basics, Derrick Henry ran for 100-plus yards for the second straight week. The Titans impressed again, forcing three turnovers and holding Jonathan Taylor to 42 yards on 20 carries.
Washington, meanwhile, never sniffed a victory against Dallas. Carson Wentz threw two INTs and took two sacks. That could actually be looked at as a possible after Wentz was sacked a total of 14 times in Weeks 2 and 3. He’ll likely see a lot of pressure In Week 5 against a Titans front that has been surprising capable at getting to the QB.

The Texans put up another tough fight in Week 4 but ultimately fell to the Chargers, 34-24. Despite failing to win a game this season, the Texans have a negative point margin of only 20.
Houston travels to Jacksonville to face a 2-2 Jags team that blew a 14-point lead to the Eagles in Week 4. The Jags led 14-0 in the first quarter but failed to score again until late in the fourth. Still, Jacksonville has proven that it can play with the league’s best.

The Panthers defense looked great again in Week 4, holding Kyler Murray and the Cardinals to 4.8 yards per play, but Baker Mayfield turned it over three times and generated only 197 yards through the air. Christian McCaffrey gained 27 yards on eight carries. The Panthers need to find chemistry on offense, especially with the 49ers next on the schedule.

The Cowboys are now 3-0 without Dak Prescott under center, but it’s fair to credit their defense for a lot of that success. Prescott could return to the lineup in Week 5, but if not, Cooper Rush has done enough to earn a starting gig every week in the league.
