NFL Week 18 quarterbacks and other scratches
Week 18 is starting to look like the bowl season in terms of the starting quarterbacks that we are going to see. Obviously it isn’t an apples to apples comparison, as some teams around the NFL are sitting starters in advance of the playoffs, but there are also some teams unwilling to push the envelope with a banged-up signal caller in a game that may or may not have any meaning.
This has been the season of the backup quarterback, so it does seem fitting that the majority of the guys atop the depth chart this week are not the traditional starter. Again, a lot of it has to do with preparation for the playoffs, but there are a staggering number of dudes whose names you either have heard in a while or whose names you’d like to forget getting the start.
While quarterbacks are the most important, we’ll also look at other star players not playing in a given game.
