In 1986, the Philadelphia Eagles set one of the most dubious and arguably unbreakable records in NFL history; they allowed 104 sacks in 16 games, an average of nearly seven sacks allowed per game.
Over the last four decades, no team has come close to sniffing the Eagles’ record – the next-highest total is 78 by the Arizona Cardinals in 1997 – but teams are still allowing 50-60 sacks per season.
