With the NFL season quickly approaching, all of the big moves in this NFL offseason have come and gone. However, one notable quarterback battle was settled on Monday, as Baker Mayfield was named the starter for the Carolina Panthers.

After he was dealt to the Panthers by Cleveland, oddsmakers immediately shifted odds in the prop markets. Mayfield was listed as a -1200 favorite to be the starter at DraftKings, with Sam Darnold and Jaxson Dart lagging far behind. So while it was a given that Mayfield would probably be named the starter, the announcement does create intrigue for Carolina’s Week 1 matchup against the Browns.'

After Mayfield was traded, the Panthers were listed at around 125/1 to win the Super Bowl at most sportsbooks. With the news that he has been named the starter, those odds have shifted to 100/1 at FanDuel. However, since Mayfield was a considerable favorite to land the starting job, some sportsbooks haven’t adjusted their prices much.
