Welcome to Week 13 of the NFL season! It’s officially December, and that means there is only a few weeks remaining before the playoffs begin. Los Angeles Chargers -5.5 (-110) over New England Patriots
Things are going from bad to worse in New England. Last week, the Patriots became the first team in over 30 years to lose back-to-back games while allowing 10 or fewer points in both games. Three weeks ago, the Patriots lost 10-6 to the Colts in Germany, and last weekend, Tommy DeVito and the Giants beat them 10-7. Mac Jones has been benched in both of those games, but the problem is that Bailey Zappe hasn't looked much better. For Week 13, Bill Belichick is holding his cards tight to his chest as he has yet to announce who will be the starting quarterback against the Chargers. With that said, it seems hard to believe that Jones will get another shot.
Let's talk about the elephant in the room with the Chargers – their defense is terrible. The defensive line doesn't get a lot of pressure on the quarterback and the secondary is atrocious. Those two attributes are why the Chargers are 4-7 this season. However, last week, the Los Angeles defense finally showed some life. Although they lost 20-10, the Chargers had held the Ravens to 13 points for the majority of the game before a Zay Flowers touchdown to seal the game late in the 4th quarter. If Justin Herbert gets the Bolts to 20 points, they should win by at least 7 points.
