There is no secret here. The Bears traded QB Justin Fields (to the Pittsburgh Steelers) and Williams’ only NFL visit has been to Chicago. They need a quarterback and Williams is the best in the draft.
How certain are we that he is the pick? He is -10000 to be the 1st overall pick.
The Commanders traded away QB Sam Howell (to the Seattle Seahawks) in the offseason and are not interested in coming off the pick. Daniels had the best season among quarterbacks in contention here, winning the Heisman Trophy. North Carolina QB Drake Maye will be under consideration, but most feel confident Daniels will be the pick. He is -600 to be the No. 2 overall pick.
The Patriots could trade out of the pick with a big enough offer, but anybody trading up would be targeting a quarterback. Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy is a sleeper for the No. 3 pick at +130 odds but, Maye is -150 to be the pick.
This order of these first 3 picks is the favorite to be in exact order at -300.
Because they traded down a year ago and traded back up, many feel that the Cardinals will do it again. They have been connected to teams looking to potentially trade up and select a quarterback, like Minnesota, Denver or Las Vegas.
However, they need a receiver and Harrison is the best one in the draft.
Also, the betting odds suggest no one really believes the Cardinals will trade out. He is -165 to be selected 4th overall.
The Vikings move up here to get a quarterback, acquiring this 5th overall pick from the Los Angeles Chargers. for the No. 11 overall, a Day 3 pick and a 1st-round selection in 2025.
McCarthy will be the 4th QB drafted in the first 5 selections.
McCarthy is the favorite to be the 5th pick at +240. The Vikings are the favorites to draft him at +140.
While the Giants probably wanted McCarthy, they go with Nabers, who many believe could have a higher ceiling in the NFL than Harrison. Nabers is the favorite to be drafted 6th overall at +160.
The Titans need a tackle and Alt is the best of the group. This pick feels natural and the odds suggest it. He is -165 to be selected 7th overall and -1000 to be the 1st offensive lineman selected.
Latu is the favorite at -150 to go 8th overall. The Falcons need a good pass rusher, and Latu is the most polished in the class.
The Bears have a great set of weapons for the No. 1 pick in Williams with RB D’Andre Swift, TE Cole Kmet and WRs D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen. Adding Odunze here will only help. He is 2nd favorite at No. 9 overall at +250. DT Byron Murphy out of Texas is 1st at +130.
The Jets could go tackle here or another defensive player, but Bowers gives them sure production as a rookie to help QB Aaron Rodgers on offense. The Jets are the favorite to draft Bowers at +150 and he is the favorite at +150 to be selected 10th overall.
After moving back to No. 11 and picking up extra picks this year and a 1st-round pick next year, the Chargers go with tackle help to protect QB Justin Herbert. He gives left-right tackle versatility. Coach Jim Harbaugh would be very familiar with Fashanu because of the Big Ten connection.
Fashanu is +120 to be drafted Under pick 13.5, so this would be a nice bet. He is -160 to be drafted Over 13.5.
The Cardinals are aggressive in finding pass-rushing help and love Turner. They are thrilled when the Falcons take Latu. They send Denver picks Nos. 27, 35 and 104 for Nos. 12 and 76.
The Broncos want to trade back because they have their eyes on another quarterback but don’t want him at No. 12 and don’t have a 2nd-round pick.
Turner is -210 to be selected Over pick 9.5.
The Raiders could go QB but with 4 off the board, they will instead go defense. They can make their secondary very good with Mitchell, the most athletic cornerback of the class.
This puts him right at the edge, but he is +160 to be drafted Under 13.5. He is -210 to go Over it.
Fuaga gives the Saints toughness on the offensive line, which they need to protect QB Derek Carr. He is +125 for his draft position to be Over 13.5 and -165 to be Under.
The Colts add a stud cornerback to their defense.
This is his sweet spot for the odds. His draft position is set at 15.5 with the Over being -125 and the Under at -105.
The Seahawks have not had a great edge presence in years. They hope Verse can be that guy.
He is +120 to have a draft position Under 17.5 and -160 Over.
Getting offensive line help would be useful, but if the Jags can cover and defend better, it will be better for QB Trevor Lawrence.
He is -110 to have a draft position Under 22.5.
The Bengals now have a young, talented replacement for OT Jonah Williams, who signed with Arizona in free agency. Fautanu is -200 to have a draft position Over 15.5.
Murphy isn’t DT Aaron Donald, who retired this offseason, but you see flashes of what Donald did well in Murphy.
Defensive line is +190 to be the Rams’ 1st position drafted. Murphy is +170 to have a draft position Over 13.5.
With both QBs Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in the fold, the Steelers make sure to give them protection with the steady play of Latham, who is +220 to have a draft position Over 13.5.
The Steelers are -375 to have an offensive lineman be their 1st pick in the draft.
The Dolphins lost DL Christian Wilkins to the Raiders in free agency but can replace him with the best defensive player in the Big Ten.
The Dolphins are +200 to have a defensive lineman be their 1st pick.
The Eagles secondary is aging. They add Wiggins, who is athletic and fearless despite a lean frame. He is +140 to have a draft position Under 27.5 and -190 for it to be Over.
