NFL first touchdown scorer player prop picks
Bah humbug! Other than cashing my weekly Jalen Hurts first touchdown ticket, Week 16 was one I’d like to forget. All season, I’ve been tracking each and every touchdown from every game, and using that data to narrow the field of options to just players from the team that’s better at scoring first. And all season, it’s been a pretty reliable system. But the randomness that can appear in this market reared its ugly head over Christmas weekend. Just five of the 14 games featuring mismatches followed the trend. Alas, as it always is in betting, onto the next! But first, here are my friends and foes from this past week.

The Undeniable Ravens: Last week I expressed frustration with the schedule makers for giving us a matchup featuring the two best FTD (first touchdown) teams. The 49ers were no match for the Ravens though as the league’s #1 team scored first yet again. This time it was Gus Edwards (+1100 at DraftKings), which was a reversion to Baltimore’s method from the first half of the season, scoring first with their feet. The Ravens have still only failed to score the first touchdown ONE time this season and they proved this week that they are matchup proof. I’ll keep betting them each and every week.
Jalen Hurts: The Eagles QB cannot be stopped. Not only did he set an NFL record for rushing touchdowns by a QB in a season, he scored his fourth TFTD (team-first touchdown) in five games. He is entering a Christian McCaffrey-esque territory where he simply must be bet each week. I won’t be surprised to see his odds dip below +300 this week when the Eagles face the Cardinals.
