New York Yankees vs. Houston Astros Prediction, Preview, and Odds – 7-21-2022

The Yankees have yet to announce their starters for the DH as of Wednesday night. They will likely be starting Jordan Montgomery and Jameson Taillon with the order yet to be determined. Montgomery has logged a 3.26 ERA and a 1.04 WHIP in 102 innings on the season. He has squandered 10 runs in 18.1 career innings against Houston. Taillon hasn’t been quite as sharp recently and enters with a 3.86 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP complemented by a 10-2 record in 100.2 innings of work. Taillon has posted a 4.58 ERA in 19.2 carer innings against the Astros.

The Yankees rebounded from a surprising series loss to the Reds by winning two of three against the Red Sox before the break and feature a huge 13-game lead atop the division. They continue to shine at the plate and rank atop the Major Leagues in most categories including 157 home runs.

Aaron Judge continues to da zzle, accumulating another five RBIs in his last four games. The 30-year-old slugger is having an MVP-caliber season, launching 33 big flies with 70 RBIs and a .983 OPS. Judge has been subpar against the Astros this season, going 3 for 21 with four RBIs.
