The Guardians won game one of the series on Monday night to improve to 7-4 on the season while the Yankees fell to 6-4 with the loss. The Yankees fell to 6-4 on Monday, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Guardians in Cleveland. The Bombers pushed across two runs in the first inning but were shut down the rest of the way to take the loss. The Yankees hope to knot the series at one apiece on Tuesday with ace Cole on the hill. Cole is off to an outstanding start with two wins and an ERA of just 0.75. He has thrown 12.1 innings and allowed just six hits, one run and struck out 19 batters thus far this season. Last year on the road, Cole was 8-3 on the road in 17 starts with a 3.81 ERA. He allowed 76 hits in 99.1 innings pitched and struck out 121 batters. Cole was 2-0 with a 1.42 ERA in two starts against the Guardians and followed that up with two wins against them in the playoffs.
