Adam Oller gets the start for Oakland. The righthander is 2-6 with a 6.41 ERA in 16 games, 11 of them starts. He is 1-2 over his last four starts with a 4.15 ERA. Oller's strikeouts (5.52) per nine innings barely outpace his walks per nine (4.92).
Domingo German gets the nod for the New York. The Yankees righthander got a late start to the season because of a shoulder injury and did not pitch until July 21. He has gone 2-2 in seven starts with a 3.89 ER since returning. German got the win in his last outing by allowing just one earned run in 6.1 innings against the crosstown rival New York Mets.
