The Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees face off on Sunday in an MLB showdown at Fenway Park. The two teams have split the first two games of this series, and the final score of each of the games was 3-2.
The Yankees sit with a 72-42 record overall and the offense hasn’t been as dominant this week. Over the last four games the Yankees have scored only eight runs total. Overall this season the Yankees are averaging 5.23 runs per game which is second in the league. The pitching has also been good and is ranked 3rd in the league. Aaron Judge is having a monster season hitting 46 home runs and driving in 100 RBIs.
On the other side of this matchup is the Red Sox who sit with a 56-59 record overall and if they want to make the playoffs they can’t afford to lose many more games. The Red Sox’s pitching has been an issue this season and they are giving up 4.76 runs per game. The offense was better earlier in the season but they now ranked 15th in the league.
