The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox face off on Friday in an MLB showdown at Fenway Park.
The Yankees sit with a 71-41 record overall but they are coming off two straight losses against the Seattle Mariners. This is a talented offense but in the last two games the offense hasn’t been good enough and needs to be better in this game. Overall the Yankees are averaging 5.28 runs per game which is second in the league. Just last week the Yankees had the top offense but they are now slipping.
On the other side of this matchup is the Red Sox who sit with a 55-58 record overall and they had lost four games in a row before beating the Orioles on Thursday. The Red Sox in that game still only scored four runs, but it was enough as they won by a run. The Red Sox’s offense has been fine this season, it’s been the pitching that has been an issue. The Red Sox are giving up 4.81 runs per game which is 25th in the league.
