The 2023 Major League Baseball Season is continuing through the fourth week as the New York Mets take on the San Francisco in this National League clash at Oracle Park in San Francisco, California on Sunday, April 23, 2022. The Mets enter as the favorites (-120) with the total set at 9.0.

New York has won the first two games of this series, outscoring the Giants 16-4 through the first two games. These teams played on Saturday but this preview was written prior to the conclusion of that contest. 

The New York Mets shutout the Giants on Friday, 7-0, earning them victories in the first two games of the series. New York has won three games in a row and is in second in the NL East. The Mets are 10-5 on the road this season.

Joey Lucchesi was dominant, tossing seven shutout innings to lead New York to the victory. The New York bullpen added two shutout frames and this group has been very good this season, posting a 3.26 ERA, which includes 2.56 over the last 10. Tylor Megill gets the start and he has been very good this season, going 3-1 with a 3.00 ERA in four starts. He allowed three runs in five innings in his last start but had allowed four runs through his first 16.0 innings. 

The Mets blew open a close game, scoring three runs in the fifth and adding three in the ninth. Edgar Alonso had two hits, including hitting his 10th home run of the season. He drove in four. New York is seventh in runs scored (104), but have really been very good of late, averaging 6.00 runs per game over their last 10 contest. That includes scoring at least five in four of their last five games.
