With 14 games remaining on the schedule, the New York Mets are first in the NL East, one game ahead of the Atlanta Braves. New York is on a four game winning streak after sweeping the Pittsburgh Pirates. On Sunday, with the game tied 3-3 the Mets scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth to take control of the game and win 7-3. Jacob deGrom did not get the decision but picked up 13 strike outs in in five innings.

Max Scherzer (9-4, 2.26 ERA) will make the start on Monday for the first time since Sept. 3. Getting run support has been an issue for Scherzer as the Mets have lost four of his last five starts, failing to score more than two runs in any of those defeats.
