The pitching matchup in Monday night's series opener will be Mets' left-hander David Peterson (0-2, 4.91) taking on Dodgers' righty Dustin May (1-1, 1.47). Pete Alonso leads the Mets with seven home runs, tied for the MLB lead, and SS Francisco Lindor leads the team with 15 RBI. The Mets' have won nine games heading into Sunday's game despite not having a free-agent signee Justin Verlander yet this season. In the series finale on Sunday at Oakland, the Mets completed the sweep of the A's after Pete Alonso hit his major league-leading 8th home run to tie the game in the 9th and Eduardo Escobar scored on a wild pitch in the top of the 10th to give the Mets the win.
