New York Mets at Washington Nationals – 8/3/22 MLB Picks and Prediction

The New York Mets and Washington Nationals face off on Wednesday in an MLB showdown at Nationals Park. The two teams have split the first two games of this series.

The Mets come into this game with a 65-38 record overall but they were pretty quiet at the trade deadline and then lost on Tuesday night. The offense only managed one run and that led to the four-run defeat. The Mets overall are averaging 4.69 runs per game which is 5th best in the league. The pitching has also been good, but at times the offense has wanted good pitching performances.

On the other side of this matchup is the Nationals who sit with a 36-69 record overall and they were big sellers at the trade deadline giving up Josh Bell and Juan Soto. This is all about playing for the future now, and there will be a ton of young at-bats the rest of the season. The pitching has been an issue for the Nationals giving up 5.42 runs per game which is 30th in baseball.
